EVEN LITTLE CHILDREN ARE KNOWN BY THEIR ACTIONS

Many believe they deserve to be a part of God’s Kingdom by who they are, the good they have done, or how long they have followed Jesus and some just because they consider themselves a good person.

Proverbs 20:11 NLT

“Even children are known by the way they act, whether their conduct is pure, and whether it is right.”

In Matthew 18:1-3; let’s see what Jesus points out to us.

“About that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”

Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them.

Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Who will be the greatest in the kingdom of God?

Jesus didn’t respond by bringing in a prophet, priest, leaders, or even good parents. He used a little child as an example for those who would be great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

We are going to look at the simplicity of a little child to see how we can be great in the Kingdom of Heaven and how we are known by others.

AS LITTLE CHILDREN WE: LOVE

John 3:16-17

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.”

So, we need to respond to God’s Love and give our lives to Him.

Show God our love through living for Him and letting His love flow through our lives to others.

AS LITTLE CHILDREN WE: FORGIVE

Matthew 6:12, 14

And forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.

“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.

But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.

In responding to God’s forgiveness for all of our past, present, and future failures (sin). We need to show God appreciation for His forgiveness by not sinning and forgiving others.

AS LITTLE CHILDREN WE: HAVE COMPASSION

Matthew 9:36

“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”

Responding to the compassion of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Show Christ nature in having His compassion on others.

As a little child we are known by our actions whether they are good or bad, through Christ Jesus we become His righteousness which prepares us so we can enter into the Kingdom of God.

Jesus is: Love, Forgiveness, and has compassion.
