FIGHTING FOR OUR CHILDREN

Pastor Tim P. Blaisure – 4/24/22 – Morning Service

(Notes: From Perry Stone)

Intro: Why are our children dropping out of attending church?

1. We have not prepared them to defend against the lie of evolution and support the Creation of all by God Almighty.

2. We have failed to teach them how to defend the Gospel of Jesus Christ and traditional marriage with the truth of the Word of God.

3. They Love pleasure more than they love God.

2 Timothy 3:1-4 NLT

You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times.

2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.

3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good.

4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.

We need to learn to fight for our children through instruction and prayer. Through breaking the spirits off our children that are battling them.

Foundation Scriptures:

Matthew 15:21-28

Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre and Sidon.

22 A Gentile woman who lived there came to him, pleading, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! For my daughter is possessed by a demon that torments her severely.”

23 But Jesus gave her no reply, not even a word. Then his disciples urged him to send her away. “Tell her to go away,” they said. “She is bothering us with all her begging.”

24 Then Jesus said to the woman, “I was sent only to help God’s lost sheep—the people of Israel.”

25 But she came and worshiped him, pleading again, “Lord, help me!”

26 Jesus responded, “It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.”

27 She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their masters’ table.”

28 “Dear woman,” Jesus said to her, “your faith is great. Your request is granted.” And her daughter was instantly healed.

FOUR WAYS THAT WE CAN FIGHT FOR OUR CHILDREN:

I. PRAY AGAINST THE SPIRIT THAT IS OPPRESSING THEM:

A. There is the spirit of Depression.

B. There is the spirit of Addiction.

(bad habits, alcohol, drugs, pornography, and many others)

C. There is a spirit of Wickedness.

D. There is a spirit of Rebellion. (Disobedience)

We need to get the Word of God and pray against these spirits and people that our children are battling so they will be set free and protected.

II. PRAY AGAINST THE BLINDNESS OF THEIR EYES:

2 Corinthians 4:4

Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

Acts 26:18

To open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me.’

A. Our children’s spiritual eyes have been blinded by the enemy.

B. Our children’s spiritual eyes have been blinded by People.

C. Our Children’s eyes need to be opened to the Truth of Jesus.

D. Our Children’s eyes need to be opened to Eternity; choices decide their future.

When we ask the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of our children’s understanding so they can see deception and know the truth so they will make right decisions.

III. PRAY AGAINST PEOPLE WHO ARE MUNIPLIATING THEM:

Ephesians 4:14

Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever, they sound like the truth.

Luke 20:21

“Teacher,” they said, “we know that you speak and teach what is right and are not influenced by what others think. You teach the way of God truthfully.

A. Pray against those who entice them to be unequally yoked – unsaved.

B. Pray against those who try to draw them into cults & evil things.

C. Pray against those who entice with promises that draw them away.

D. Pray against those who try to divide the family with lies.

There are many who are trying to take our children through lies, deception, and empty promises. We need to pray against the spirit of manipulation (evil influence) of those that are trying to lead our children away from the Lord.

IV. PRAY AGAINST THEIR OWN WILL:

Jonah chapters 1-4

Talk’s about Jonah’s will and God’s will for him to go to Nineveh to warn them and Jonah’s will to let his enemies perish. So, he went the opposite direction only to have God put a storm in his path, a great fish to swallow him, and then in despair Jonah finally decided God’s will was better than his and repented and did what God asked him to do.

A. There is a divine will of God for each of our children’s lives.

B. There is what God has given each a free will.

C. We need to pray that the stubborn will of our children that is contrary to God’s will, that it will be broken so that their hearts will be tender before God.

D. That they will follow the Truth and the will of the Word of God.

The Lord’s prayer says: “Your (God’s) will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. Notice it doesn’t say our will be done.

Conclusion:

Remember we and our children are fighting in the last days Seducing (enticing) spirits, spirits of bondage (addiction), and spirits of infirmity (Physical and mental weaknesses).

Ask the Lord to give you:

1. The ability to discern what kind of spirit your children are fighting.

2. To break repeatable habits (generational).

3. Help us to do what the Word of God says in our prayers.

Matthew 16:19 NKJV

And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
