Pastor Tim P Blaisure – May 8th, 2022 – Mother’s Day Message

In short, she is a mother who loves, obeys, and depends on God for the care and raising of her children. She looks to God for guidance and direction as she brings them up.

There is no exact pattern of what a Loving mother should do or act like, and no two are the same. Each mother is one-of-a-kind woman with her own set of characteristics and circumstances.

And even loving mothers are far from perfect. They don’t always do the right thing, but they make mistakes, and they let their emotions get the best of them at times.

True love comes from God, and it is a gift that God has given moms to look beyond the outer appearance and see the child with love like God does.

Foundation Scriptures:

Psalm 127:3-5 NIV

Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.”

John 2:1-11 NLT

The next day there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,

2 and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration.

3 The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.”

4 “Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.”

5 But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

6 Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons.

7 Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled,

8 he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So, the servants followed his instructions.

9 When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over.

10 “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!”

11 This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

Romans 8:27-29

“And he (or she) who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.”

A. All Mother’s need to know Jesus personally.

B. All Mother’s receive true love and everything that is needed.

C. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud

5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.

6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.

7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

Psalm 86:15-16

But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.

16 Turn to me and have mercy on me; show your strength in behalf of

your servant; save me, because I serve you just as my mother did.

Ephesians 5:1-2

Deuteronomy 6:6-7

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.

7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

Proverbs 29:17

Ephesians 6:1-3 NLT

Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do.

2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise:

3 If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”

When you honor your Mother, you are showing them how much you love them.

Jesus loved you so much that He gave His life for you!
