Pastor Tim P. Blaisure – 08/28/22 – Morning Message

Intro: Ecclesiastes 5:16-20 NLT

And this, too, is a very serious problem. People leave this world no better off than when they came. All their hard work is for nothing—like working for the wind.

17 Throughout their lives, they live under a cloud—frustrated, discouraged, and angry.

18 Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy their work under the sun during the short life God has given them, and to accept their lot in life.

19 And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God.

20 God keeps such people so busy enjoying life that they take no time to brood over the past.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 NLT

The Dangers of the Last Days

You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times.

2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.

3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have

no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good.

4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.

5 They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!

Foundation Scriptures:

Romans 13:8 KJV

8 Owe no man anything, but to love one another, for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

8 Keep out of debt and owe no man anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor [who practices loving others] has fulfilled the Law [relating to one’s fellowmen, meeting all its requirements].

Don’t run up debts, except for the huge debt of love you owe each other. When you love others, you complete what the law has been after all along.

Living Bible

8 Pay all your debts except the debt of love for others—never finish paying that! For if you love them, you will be obeying all of God’s laws, fulfilling all his requirements.

8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one

another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

Proverbs 22:7 The Message

The poor are always ruled over by the rich, so don’t borrow and put yourself under their power.

A. Debt puts you under the power of the lender.

B. Jesus freed us from the debt of sin so we would stay out of sin not so we could continue to sin.

C. Getting out of debt is not time for us to get back into debt.

D. We are to be free to live for Jesus with our all not just a part.

E. The Kingdom of God’s way is to get out of debt and not to get back into debt but to trust in the Lord for everything and in everything.

Matthew 6:12 Expanded Bible

Forgive us for our ·sins [debts], just as we have forgiven ·those who sinned against us [our debtors; sin is pictured as a debt owed].

Matthew 22:36-39 KJV

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

A. We owe our Lord Jesus LOVE and all our lives and dedication.

B. To love Him with all our hearts (spirit), soul (will, emotions, conscience, personality), and mind (intellect).

C. This means He is first in our lives before anyone or anything else.

D. We are to love ourselves enough to live right and act right.

E. We are to love others as we love ourselves.

Matthew 22:40

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

A. Jesus loved us so much and gave His life for us to be free from sin and to live the kingdom way and not the worlds way.

B. The worlds way is sin, selfishness, debt, pleasures of this life, love yourself and push others down to get yourself up.

C. We can’t fully fulfil the two Commandments of God if we are under the power of someone other than our Lord Jesus Christ.

D. True love is not forced or earned it is freely given.

E. In these last days people need to see true freedom and the love of Christ from those who are free in every area of their lives not just forgiven for their sins and struggling like everyone else.

NO NEW DEBT! Needs to be all of our goals in these last days.

Philippians 4:13 KJV

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Philippians 4:19

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

When we are so involved with the cares of this life it is very difficult to be focusing on others and the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
