Pastor Tim P. Blaisure – 10/09/22 – Morning Message

It is one thing to give your heart to the Lord Jesus to be saved from all your past sins, but it is another to keep careful watch over your own life that you are growing in the Lord and not falling back into the past way of doing things.

Staying ready for the Lord’s return is very important in these last days!

We can get so caught up with daily life that we ignore or even forget how close Jesus is to coming. It could be today!

It is one thing to stock up for a disaster, but it is another thing to keep your inventory fresh and rotated, keep watching for storms at the same time doing the things each day that keep you productive in every area of your life.

Foundation Scriptures:

Luke 12:35-40 NLT

Be Ready for the Lord’s Coming

“Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning,

36 as though you were waiting for your master to return from the wedding feast. Then you will be ready to open the door and let him in the moment he arrives and knocks.

37 The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat!

38 He may come in the middle of the night or just before dawn. But whenever he comes, he will reward the servants who are ready.

39 “Understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would not permit his house to be broken into.

40 You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.”

Matthew 26:41

“Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”

A. Watch for the signs of the time and keep watch for Jesus shout.

B. Pray for those who are lost and for the Lord’s soon return.

1. Your spirit is willing – like the disciples.

2. But your body is weak – don’t get weary in well doing.

1 Timothy 4:15-16

“Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress.

16 Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.”

A. You received gifts from God when you got saved.

B. Keep the gifts and fruit of the Spirit flowing in your life.

C. Put your all into serving the Lord Jesus – others are watching.

1. How you are living your life.

2. For your own Salvation.

3. For a testimony for others who need Jesus.

1 Peter 5:7-9

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.”

A. Keep casting your cares on the Lord Jesus, don’t carry them.

B. Alert! Your enemy wants to destroy you and your family.

C. Stand firm against the enemy by staying strong in your faith.

D. Everyone of you are facing the enemy through some kind of difficulty.

2 John 7-9

“I say this because many deceivers have gone out into the world. They deny that Jesus Christ came in a real body. Such a person is a deceiver and an antichrist.

8 Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked so hard to achieve. Be diligent so that you receive your full reward.

9 Anyone who wanders away from this teaching has no relationship with God. But anyone who remains in the teaching of Christ has a relationship with both the Father and the Son.”

A. There are many kinds of deceivers – people trying to sidetrack you from serving the Lord Jesus and watching for His return.

B. Watch out! If you don’t pay attention, you could lose all that you have accomplished for the Lord and your family.

C. Diligence – putting in the effort – work.

D. Hard workers receive a full reward, God is watching!

1. Will you have a relationship with Jesus when He returns?

2. Remaining in the Promises, Principles, and Provisions of the Lord Jesus keeps you in a close relationship with the Lord Jesus.

Revelation 16:15

“Look, I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! Blessed are all who are watching for me, who keep their clothing ready so they will not have to walk around naked and ashamed.”
