SUICIDE, WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT IT?
We all have had someone close or knew someone who has committed suicide. This is something that doesn’t just effect the person who has died but really effects those left behind.
According to the Word of God in 1 Samuel 16:7b NKJV
“For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
There are so many reasons why people have committed suicide, why there are those right know contemplating it as a answer to all their problems. God has said judge not lest you will be judged by the same way you judge. So, I want to give you some scriptures and let you choose for yourself what God is really saying.
1 Corinthians 3:16
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”
“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you, life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.”
“You shall not murder.”
“Do not be overly wicked, nor be foolish: why should you die before your time?
I know there are many reasons why people have committed suicide: Some have lost their minds and don’t know what they are doing. Some as in Judas case had Satan enter him and then he betrayed Jesus and then went out and hanged himself instead of asking for forgiveness, he was guilt stricken. Other’s have been overcome with depression, medications, peer pressure. This is why we need to know the signs of depression and get people help! Every person is worth a lot to God, that is why He sent His Son Jesus to die for them.
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. 18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves such as have a contrite spirit.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
“The thief (devil) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
This is why you each person needs to know Jesus and experience life changes for eternity.
