CHRISTMAS TIME IS NOT WASTED TIME

Pastor Tim P. Blaisure – 12/24/23 – Morning Message

Intro:

Christmas ended up mixed with the pagan holidays of December one of which was the winter solstice which was a huge part of pagan life.

The real reason for the selection of December 25th as the date we celebrate Christ birth is because it is exactly nine months after March 25th, the traditional date of Jesus crucifixion … as Christians developed the theological idea that Jesus was conceived and crucified on the same date, they set the date of His birth nine months later.

13.   TODAY: CHRISTMAS TIME IS NOT WASTED TIME:

CHRISTMAS meaning (Christ Mass) It is shortened from Christ’s Mass – a time of spiritual reflection on the important foundations of the Christian faith. It’s also a celebration. It’s when Christians celebrate God’s love for the world through the birth of the Christ child: JESUS.

CHRIST – anointed One

CHRISTMAS – an anointed mass – a time when we remember the anointed One Jesus / and we wait on His anointing to flow through our lives and families.

They want to call it X-mas so they can take away all of the anointing God has sent to the world and to each one of us through Jesus Christ.

Foundation Scriptures:

Luke 2:8-19 NKJV

8 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.

10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ (the Anointed One) the Lord.

12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:

14 “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.”

16 And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.

17 Now when they had SEEN HIM, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child.

18 And all those who HEARD IT marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

19 But Mary KEPT all these things and pondered them in her heart.

Matthew 1:16 AMPC

“Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born JESUS, WHO IS CALLED THE CHRIST. (THE MESSIAH, THE ANOINTED)”

Isaiah 10:27 KJV

27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the ANOINTING.

D.  He was given to us as the gift that would make us a part of the family of God.

II.            CHRISTMAS IS A TIME WE RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST:

(The Anointed One)

A.  We need to receive the gift from God in the form of an innocent baby. (why the would want to delete Him)

B.  We need to receive the gift of eternal life through the anointed baby.

C.  We need to receive the gift of freedom from all bondages in Christ Jesus.

D.  We need to receive the gift of the family of God and becoming the body of Christ. (The church) Christians – believers of the anointed One.

III.          CHRISTMAS IS A TIME WE SHARE JESUS CHRIST:

(The Anointed One)

A.  Christ is the part of Christmas that needs to be shared as a gift from God to all.

B.  Christ is the part of Christmas that needs to be shared through the anointing that flows from Him to us and gives eternal life.

C.  Christ is the part of Christmas that needs to be shared so that many will receive freedom in their spirit, soul, and bodies.

Conclusion:

Isaiah 61:1-3 KJV

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath ANOINTED ME TO PREACH GOOD TIDINGS unto the meek; he hath SENT ME TO BIND UP THE BROKENHEARTED, to PROCLAIM LIBERTY TO THE CAPTIVES, and THE OPENING OF THE PRISON TO THEM THAT ARE BOUND;

2 To PROCLAIM THE ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE LORD, and the DAY OF VENGEANCE OF OUR GOD; to COMFORT ALL THAT MOURN;

3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
