FAMILY TIME IS NOT WASTED TIME

Pastor Tim P. Blaisure – 11/05/23 – Morning Message

Intro:

Family – a group of one or more parents and their children living together as a unit.

There is an enemy of the family that has been at work since the garden of Eden. First, he wants to separate us from God, then split up parents, split up children and cause such division in the family until there is no such thing as a family unit. If the enemy can destroy the family, he can destroy the church, the Family of God.

John 10:10 NLT

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy.

My (God) purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

This is why FAMILY TIME IS NOT WASTED TIME, but it is vital to keeping your family together and safe.

Foundation Scriptures:

Acts 16:32-34

“Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house.

33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized.

34 Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household.”

Genesis 7:1 NKJV

“Then the Lord said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.

Joshua 24:15 NKJV

“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, CHOOSE FOR YOURSELVES THIS DAY WHOM YOU WILL SERVE, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.”

2 Corinthians 6:17-18

“Therefore, COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM AND BE SEPARATE, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.” 18 “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.”

D. Be like Jesus and listen to your Heavenly Father before you say or do anything. (What Would Jesus Do?)

Conclusion:

In the Bible there are all kinds of examples of messed up families and their decision making and the results of them.

Cain – killed his brother Able.

Joseph’s brothers were jealous – threw him in a pit then sold him into slavery.

King Saul – tried to kill his son-in-law, David.

Jesus – Made sure when He died one of His disciples took care of her.

There are many bad and good stories of families in the Bible to show us what happens when you make the wrong decisions and the right decisions with family time or not.
