OD IS LOVE SO WE SHOULD LOVE OTHERS
Pastor Tim P. Blaisure – 07/30/23 – Morning Message
Intro:
Have you heard these Phrases before: “What do I get out of it”, “I want”, “That’s mine”, “It is all about me”, “If I can’t have it no one else can”.
So, often life is about ourselves and if something doesn’t have a benefit for us, we don’t want anything to do with it. God is and has reached out to us in love.
Foundation Scriptures:
John 3:14-17
“And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
15 so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.
16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.”
I. THIS IS WHO GOD IS: LOVE
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT
“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.
7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

II. WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD SO WE ARE TO LOVE:
Matthew 22:36-40
“Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?”
37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

Conclusion:
1 John 4:7-8
“Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.
8 But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:3
“If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.”
Prayer Salvation:
Lord Jesus, I receive your love and forgiveness today.
Please forgive me of all my sin and selfishness. I believe that you sent Jesus to die for my sin and I believe in You, and I confess that You are Lord of my life today!
Prayer of Healing:
I also receive today your sacrifice so that I am made whole physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Sickness and disease of any kind has no hold on me, in the name of JESUS!
