HEART TROUBLE

Intro:
All throughout this world people have had heart trouble.
The HEART I am talking about is our Spirit (spiritual heart) it is the inner person that receives the light of the Holy Spirit. It is the part of us that when we give our lives to God is the part that He changes and makes new.
The problem is to many have heart trouble, they get a heart from God only to keep putting the wrong things into their lives that causes heart trouble like a hard heart towards God and His ways.
We need to address this so that we can have a heart for our Lord Jesus.
Foundation Scriptures:
Ezekiel 36:25-27 NKJV
“Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.
26 I will give you a NEW HEART and put a NEW SPIRIT within you; I will take the HEART OF STONE out of your flesh and give you a HEART OF FLESH.
27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.”
Ezekiel 36:25-28 MSG
24-28 “‘For here’s what I’m going to do: I’m going to take you out of these countries, gather you from all over, and bring you back to your own land. I’ll pour pure water over you and scrub you clean. I’ll give you a NEW HEART, put a NEW SPIRIT in you. I’ll remove the STONE HEART from your body and replace it with a HEART THAT’S GOD-WILLED, NOT SELF-WILLED. I’ll put MY SPIRIT in you and make it possible for you to do what I tell you and live by my commands. You’ll once again live in the land I gave your ancestors.
You’ll be my people! I’ll be your God!
I. HARDNESS OF OUR HEART COMES THROUGH SIN:
Proverbs 28:13-14 NKJV
“He who COVERS HIS SINS will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
14 Happy is the man who is always reverent (HONORS GOD), But he who HARDENS HIS HEART will fall into calamity.
II. HARDNESS OF THE HEART PUTS TRADITION BEFORE GOD:
Mark 3:4-5 NKJV
“Then He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent.
5 And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the HARDNESS OF THEIR HEARTS, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.”
III. HARDNES OF THE HEART MAKES US BLIND, DEAF, AND LACK OF UNDERSTANDING:
Acts 28:27 NLT
“For the HEARTS of these people are HARDENED, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes— so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their HEARTS CANNOT UNDERSTAND, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal, them.’
IV. HARDNESS OF THE HEART BRINGS TROUBLE FOR THE FUTURE:
Romans 2:4-6 NKJV
“Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that THE GOODNESS OF GOD LEADS YOU TO REPENTANCE?
5 But in accordance with YOUR HARDNESS AND YOUR IMPENITENT - (not feeling shame or regret about your actions)
HEART you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
6 who “will render to each one according to his deeds”
Conclusion:
Hebrews 3:7-9
“Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:
“Today, IF YOU WILL HEAR HIS VOICE,
Ezekiel 36:26 “I will give you a NEW HEART and put a NEW SPIRIT within you; I will take the HEART OF STONE out of your flesh and give you a HEART OF FLESH.”
8 DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness, 9 Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, And saw My works forty years.
