The Church is the body of Christ on earth

VISION TIME IS NOT WASTED TIME

PART 4 – THE CHURCH:

Pastor Tim P. Blaisure – 1/28/24 – Morning Message

Intro:

THE CHURCH – The body of Christ.

Spiritual - Vision of the church

1.   Normal Church– see’s clearly what the Word of God says and understand it normally for the moment and the future.

2.   Near sited Church – See’s clearly only what is in the Word of God at the moment.

3.   Far sited Church – See’s for the moment blurry and what is far away clearly.

4.   Blind Church – Can’t see at all or very blurry now and in the future.

5.   Exceptional Church – See’s clearly through the eyes of the Holy Spirit and your renewed spirit in the Word of God and revelation for now and the future, and the very far future.

Foundation Scriptures:

Matthew 16:17-19 NLT

“Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being.

18 Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.

19 And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”

I.                     PERSONAL VISION:

II.                 FAMILY VISION:

III.            CHURCH VISION

A. THE CHURCH (body of Christ) LIVING IN THE LIGHT:

Ephesians 5:1-20

“Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.

2 Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

3 Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people.

4 Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.

5 You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

6 Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him.

7 Don’t participate in the things these people do.

8 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So, live as people of light!

9 For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.

10 Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.

11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.

12 It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret.

13 But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them,

14 for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said,

“Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”

B. THE CHURCH (body of Christ) LIVING BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT:

15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.

16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.

17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,

19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.

20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

CONCLUSION:

Jude 3-5

“Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people.

4 I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

5 So I want to remind you, though you already know these things, that Jesus first rescued the nation of Israel from Egypt, but later he destroyed those who did not remain faithful.”
