WHAT ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT?

ARE YOU WORRYING OR WAITING?

Pastor Tim P. Blaisure – 07/22/23 – Morning Message

Intro:

We have two big choices throughout the day and night.

We can WORRY about everything: Worry is: give way to anxiety or unrest allowing your mind to dwell on difficulties or trouble.

Or you can WAIT on the Lord for His help and direction doing what the Word of God says.

WAIT: Stay where you are, delaying action until the right time or something else happens.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 (NLT)

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

I. NOT WORRYING BUT WAITING (TRUSTING) IN GOD AS HE RENEWS YOUR STRENGTH:

A. Psalm 18:2

“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”

B. Romans 4:19-21

“And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,

21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

C. Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

II. NOT WORRYING BUT WAITING (TRUSTING) IN GOD AS HE LIFTS YOU ABOVE YOUR PROBLEMS:

A. Psalm 3:2-3

“Many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah

3 But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head.

B. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.”

III. NOT WORRYING BUT WAITING (TRUSTING) IN GOD AS HE HELPS YOU RUN – NOT GROW WEARY:

A. Psalm 18:29

“For by You I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall.”

B. Proverbs 4:11-12

“I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths. 12 When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, And when you run, you will not stumble.

C. 2 Thessalonians 3:13

“But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good.”

IV. NOT WORRYING BUT WAITING (TRUSTING) IN GOD AS HE HELPS YOU WALK – AND NOT FAINT:

A. Psalm 15:1-2

Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?

2 He who walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart;”

B. John 5:7-8

“The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”

C. Deuteronomy 20:2-4

“So it shall be, when you are on the verge of battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people.

3 And he shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them.

4 for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”

Conclusion:

WORRY – Takes away from you.

WAITING – Adds to you.
